What People Are Saying

TLTC has received interesting feedback from end users of websites over the years.  Such comments are helpful in correcting errors (yes, we make them) and in providing data on how software is actually used.

Through such communications, we've discovered that end users are more imaginative and creative in the use of materials than we had envisioned.  And we've found that most folks are genuinely appreciative, when provided useful and useable learning materials for self-study.

If you'd like to add to the collective wisdom concerning use and applications of instructional technology, please consider posting a comment to our weblog.  A selection of "what people are saying" is included below:

Français Interactif, Tex's French Grammar
  • Amazingly lucid and entertaining grammar explanations and follow-up exercises

  • This is just the best resource for students of French I have found, thank you!
    Rita, France
  • Thank you for running your first year French verb conjugation page.  I'm a student at Clayton State University in Morrow, Georgia, and I use the page almost daily to check my homework, emails, and for reference while reading periodicals.  Not only is it extremely functional, but the color schemes, fonts, and photographs are excellent. I love your site. Thank you for existing.

  • I am from Greece and this is the best site for French Grammar ever!!!  Well structured, user friendly interface and the story of Tex and Tammy is great!  I have my examinations in December for DELF B2 and found it really helpful! Especially the verb practice!  Thanks a lot!

  • Thanks a lot for the comprehensive website, it makes learning French enjoyable and easier.

  • This is an excellent tool, it is extremely helpful for students, like myself, learning French.  It really assists in making the transition from merely speaking competently to writing correctly too.  Great job!
    Martin, Switzerland
  • Both of your sites are wonderful.  They are two of the most useful websites I have found for French.
    Karen, Michigan
  • I am a Norwegian of 50 working to pick up the long forgotten French that I learned when I was 19.  I stumbled across your site.  My compliments.  It is the best language-educational site I have ever seen. In all aspects: good!

  • Just a quick note to say, thank you ever so much for one of the best French resources on the internet.  I don't know where I'd be grammatically without you!  What a site. :-)

  • I am learning French on my own and while visiting several grammar websites I must rate yours as top notch, the best I have seen. Just the boot tip for verb conjugation helped me a ton.  Thanks.  Also, thank you for allowing me to download the pdf and the mp3 files.  I can review at my own pace offline.

  • I LOVE YOUR SITE, and I have sent it to many friends already and will actually be able to use it all the time at work.  You have done an amazing and amazingly thorough job here, folks.  Don't mess with Tex's French Grammar = my new bumper sticker.
    Martha, California
  • I'm a Spanish teacher of English in Barcelona and I'm going to France in August. I find your website a very good tool for self-learning, much better than other CD-ROM courses that I've bought for this purpose. Your site has everything I consider necessary to learn a language from home:
    • Audio files: it's possible to hear all the French words that are written.
    • Carefully graduated, full and clear grammar explanations with exercises.
    • Approach to learning starting from topic interest.  This is especially useful when travelling.  I looked at Unit 5 first, for example, since in France I will often go to restaurants, shops and markets.
    • Video files: they reinforce vocabulary presentation, grammar explanations and pronunciation.
    • Transcript of conversations next to videos: it's helpful to have it alongside with the audio/video if one doesn't completely understand what is being said.
    To sum up: well done!

Tá Falado
  • Tá Falado is a really well done and unique language-learning podcast.  The objective is to teach Brazilian Portuguese, but the teaching model also incorporates Spanish.  What a great idea!  This multiplies the utility of the material by bringing Spanish-speakers into the audience.  My fiancé and I want to learn Portuguese, but she only speaks Spanish.  This works great for us.  We listen to it together.  It helps her learn English too!  Kudos to the linguistics teams at UT.  Hook 'em Horns!
    DaveFer, iTunes store podcasts
  • Congratulations for this podcast!!!  It is very well thought out and very professional.  The podcast is structured in a way that is interesting to learn the language.  I'm started looking for options to study Portuguese in the city were I live (Maracaibo – Yes, same as Jose Luis).  Thank you guys for sharing this.  Best Regards,
    Pedro, Venezuela
  • Many thanks for the excellent explanations of the differences between the Spanish and Portuguese pronunciations of vowels – will you be going on to the consonants in future?  I have had a life-long interest in languages and endeavour to constantly improve my knowledge in various favourite languages.  Tá Falado has been most helpful so far in enhancing my understanding of the intricacies of Portuguese pronunciation!

Cantar de mio Cid
  • To the team who put this site together: IT ROCKS!  This is one of the best websites in just about every web aspect.  From scripting, editing, interactivity, content, web design ... you name it.  I am so impressed and so appreciate this particular content made available to the world.  Kudos to all of you!

  • I noted your spectacular webpage on the Cid as an amazing example of the way medievalists have taken the lead in re-mediating (moving from one medium to anther) literature.
