Eric Eubank
Eric Eubank has been a media and computer technology explorer for over thirty years at the University of Texas at Austin. He is a graduate of UT with a major in Radio-TV-Film and course concentrations in liberal arts. His career at UT has encompassed craft, art, science, creativity, and process. Work has been about applying skills at the intersection of multiple creative interests. For much of the last decade a long time in one area, by his estimation Eric has been primarily been involved in web development. He wonders where the muse will lead next.
Professional endeavors have included audio production, website design, web applications development, server and lab management, systems automation, computer programming, project management, graphic design, videography, video editing and post-production, live audio mixing, multimedia design and programming, radio production, and educational software theory and practice.
Awards have included the University's Employee Excellence award, Liberal Arts service award, several IITAP awards, and the National Council of Teachers of English award.
During his life, Eric has maintained an interest in words and language, especially the written variety. He likes most types of music and is one of several hundred thousand amateur musicologists/musicians in the Austin area. Recently, he has become especially fond of playing a particular Godin electric guitar.
Eric lives in the Texas hill country with his wife Dori and two cats, Buster and Sophie. In addition to being a student of tonality, Eric is inspired by skies, clouds, mountains, oceans, landscapes, moving streams and natural environments of all kinds. He loves to walk.
Working remotely has been an adventure of eight years from which Eric has gained valuable knowledge and experience. He has been profoundly influenced by unexpectedly becoming a rural Texan. As an adjunct developer and a UT insider who has learned a thing or two about how the University of Texas operates, over the years Eric has provided alternative experience for the benefit of a diverse community of learners.
